Gainesville, Georgia- The Brenau soccer team picked up a late-season Appalachian Athletic Conference win with a 1-0 victory over Montreat (NC) College on Saturday.
After a scoreless first half, the Golden Tigers scored the winning goal as freshman Emily Tamayo took a pass from sophomore Madison Kitson and beat Cavalier keeper Anna Weissenfluh. For Tamayo, the goal marked her second of the season, while Kitson posted her fourth assist of the 2025 campaign.
Montreat (6-7-1 overall, 5-5-1) managed 13 shots in the match; however, Golden Tigers keepers Emily Nix and Sarah Cook combined for a clean sheet, leading the defense to another shutout victory.
Brenau (7-6-1 overall, 5-5-1 AAC) plays its last regular-season home game of 2025 when the squad hosts Reinhardt (Ga.) University (7-5-2 overall, 7-3-2 AAC) on Wednesday at 6 pm Eastern.
