Lady Royals Storm Back to Defeat Brenau
KNOXVILLE, TN– After a sluggish first half, the Johnson University Lady Royals roared back in the second half to secure a 94-78 victory over Brenau University on Monday night at Doug Karnes Arena. The win marks the Lady Royals' 22nd of the season and keeps them tied for first place in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
Head coach Bryan Lawhon acknowledged the team's slow start but praised their resilience. "We came out as flat as we could and possibly played our worst basketball of the season in the first half," Lawhon said. "There were no magic words or adjustments, we just said go execute what we do and be us. They are a gritty group and just came out and played in the second half. Proud to get win #22 and stay tied for first in the AAC."

However, after the break, Johnson found its rhythm. The Lady Royals erupted for 24 points in the third quarter and an impressive 33 in the fourth, pulling away from Brenau for a decisive win.
