Golden Tigers Continue to Roll in AAC Tourney; Defeat Tennessee Wesleyan 7-4
Kingsport, Tennessee- The Brenau softball team outhit the #6 seed Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs to win 7-4 and advance to the semifinals of the 2025 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) softball championships on Wednesday.
The Golden Tigers fell behind 3-2 in the second inning, but outscored Tennessee Wesleyan 5-1 during the rest of the game to take the win.
Junior Allie Busbee hit a solo home run and starting pitcher Emily Hall battled the Bulldogs (24-11) for seven innings to win her third consecutive game of the tournament.
Junior Whitney Hulsey went 3-4 with an RBI, while sophomore Peyton Hawkins went 2-3 with 3 RBIs to help the Golden Tigers cruise into the semifinals.
Brenau outhit Tennessee Wesleyan 11-6 in the game.
The squad will take on fourth-seed Johnson (Tenn.) University at 3 pm on Thursday in the double elimination tournament.
