Gainesville, Ga.- The Brenau soccer team shut out visiting Toccoa Falls (Ga.) College 3-0 in a non-conference matchup on Saturday.
Both squads battled to a stalemate for 40 minutes until Brenau senior Daroly Ramos-Lopez assisted on sophomore Sarah Clark's fourth goal of the season for a 1-0 first-half lead.
After intermission, the Brenau offense continued to push the tempo as junior Joselly Bautista scored on a header off a Ryalie Acker corner kick for a 2-0 lead.
In the 70th minute, Acker notched her second assist of the match as Clark took the pass and beat Toccoa Falls' keeper Carien-Marie Benninghaus for her fifth goal of the season and the insurance goal to secure the victory.
The Golden Tigers defense held the visiting Screaming Eagles to only four shots on goal as Brenau goalkeepers Emily Nix and Sarah Cook combined for the shutout.
Brenau (5-4 overall, 3-3 AAC) travels to take on Truett McConnell (Ga) University (8-0-2 overall, 7-0-1 AAC) at 7 pm on Monday in Cleveland, Georgia.
