
Softball Sweeps Wesleyan (Ga.) College in Non-conference Play
Gainesville, Georgia- The Brenau softball team offense continued to stay hot as the squad swept Wesleyan(Ga) College in a non-conference doubleheader on Friday.
In the opener, the Golden Tigers pounded out sixteen hits in a 19-6 rout of the visiting Wolves in five innings.
Sophomore Ava Moon led the offense with a home run, while fellow sophomore Peyton Hawkins had a strong first game with two hits and 4 RBIs. Moon posted a perfect 3-3 day with two stolen bases as well.
Junior Whitney Hulsey continued her outstanding week by going 2-3 with 4 RBIs, while sophomore Dayton Power added two hits and a pair of steals.
Freshman Malorie Watson earned her fourth victory on the mound, while sophomore Natalie Shubert pitched an inning of relief for the Golden Tigers.
In the second game, Brenau continued to pour on the offense as the squad cruised to a 24-2 victory.
Hulsey notched a career–best 7 RBIs, while Allie Busbee went 4-4 with four RBIs. Freshman Elizabeth Bowen also added three RBIs in the win.
Freshman Emily Hall pitched three innings of shutout ball to earn the victory, while junior Carlie Neal threw two innings of relief to secure the victory.
Brenau (8-0 overall, 2-0 AAC) will take on Wesleyan (Ga.) College (0-8 overall) again on Saturday with the first game starting at noon eastern at Ernest Ledford Grindle Athletics Park.
