Stafford's record-breaking performance leads to 4th AAC DPOTW honors

Gainesville, GA- Senior post Kayla Stafford continued her strong senior campaign by garnering her fourth AAC WinWon Defensive Player of the Week award for the week of February 9-15th , the conference office announced this week.

Stafford dominated the boards for the Golden Tigers by posting 55 rebounds, 39 on the defensive end, and added four steals and 11 blocks. She is the first Brenau basketball player to earn four player of the week honors, and the first Brenau athlete since softball standout Eli Daniel (2017) to earn at least three conference player of the week awards. 

For the season, the McDonough, Ga. native is averaging 7.3 points per game, 13.6 rebounds per game and 2.6 blocks. She currently leads the AAC in rebounds per game (13.6), total rebounds (326), defensive rebounds (232), blocks (62), and total offensive rebounds (94).

Nationally, Stafford sits in the top-10 among NAIA players as she is ranked seventh in total rebounds per game, total defensive rebounds per game, and in blocked shots per game.
