Soccer Blanks Johnson 3-0 in AAC Opener

Gainesville, Georgia- The Brenau soccer team shutout Johnson (Tenn.) University 3-0 in an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday.

The Golden Tigers used three first-half goals to capture the victory and held a decisive edge in both shot attempts (18-6) and corner kicks (10-1) over the visiting Royals. Freshman Hannah Listwin scored in both the 26th and 31st minutes, while in the 36th minute, reigning AAC Player of the Week Cindy Bonilla notched her third goal of the season to secure the win.

The Brenau defense earned its second shutout of the season as keeper Jordan Smith saved two goals for a clean sheet.

Brenau (3-1 overall, 1-0 AAC) next hosts Bryan (Tenn.) College (1-1-1 overall, 0-0 AAC) on Wednesday at 7 pm eastern time in Gainesville.
