Swimming Finishes Tenth at NAIA National Championships

Columbus, Georgia- The Brenau swim team placed tenth at the 2019 NAIA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships this past weekend.

Lindsay Dowling closed out her stellar career with a fourth place finish in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:07.90. Overall at the 2019 championships, the senior also placed third in the 100 backstroke, and helped both the 400 medley relay team to a seventh place finish and the 200 freestyle relay squad place eleventh.

Other top finishers on the final day of competition include Yanne Toussaint, who earned tenth place in the 100 freestyle (53.00), Ashlyn Steinbach who took thirteenth place in the 200 breaststroke (2:29.70) and Haley Bartoletta who placed sixteenth in the 200 butterfly (2:15.30).

In total, the Golden Tigers earned nine top-twenty individual finishes and four top-twelve relay finishes at the 2019 championships, amassing a total of 149 points.

SCAD-Savannah won the overall team title for the second consecutive year, while Keiser University and the University of Cumberlands rounded out the top three finishers.
