
Swim Sets New Team Relay Record at NAIA Championships
Knoxville, Tennessee- On the opening day of the 2020 NAIA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, the Brenau swim team had a solid day which included setting a new team record in the 200 freestyle relay on Thursday.
The freestyle relay team of Bayley Blackmon, Bailey Ibarra, Yanne Toussaint and Hanne te Velthuis set the Brenau team record in the preliminary races with a time of 1:37.55. The squad then raced to a fourth place finish in the finals with a time of 1:37.56.
In the 400 medley relay, the group of Blackmon, Toussaint, te Velthuis and Haley Bartoletta also captured eighth place in 4:03.60.
Individually, Yanne Toussaint placed thirteenth in the 200 IM with a time of 2:10.81 and the Golden Tigers also had two top finishers in the 50 freestyle as Hanne te Velthuis and Bayley Blackmon earned 10th and 12th place respectively.
