Indoor Track Competes at Tiger Invitational

Winston Salem, North Carolina- Members of the Brenau indoor track and field team competed at the Tiger Invitational hosted by the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee this past weekend. 

Freshman Sha’Niya Woolery continued her early career success with a pair of 2nd place finishes. Woolery threw 12.54 meters in the shot put and 14.75 meters in the weight throw for an outstanding day.

Jailyn Kendrick also posted two top-ten finishes with a 4th place in the weight throw (14.0 meters) and an 8th place finish in the shot put (10.46 meters).

Other Golden Tiger individual finishers include: 

Kamryn Chambliss: 7th place, 200 meters, 27.72;

Michel Alex: 8th place, long jump, 5.00m;

Jasmine Johnson: 6th place, triple jump, 9.89m;

Oluwatomisin John: 7th place, long jump, 5.05m; 9th place, 200 meters, 28.93;

Hedvig Lind: 3rd place in mile run, 6:25.07; 13th place, 400 meters, 2:50.81;

Niasia May: 21st 400 meters, 3:15.96;

Vanessa Providence: 8th place, 200 meters, 28.88; 8th place, high jump, 1.36m;

Laila Reed: 7th place, high jump, 1.36m; 10th place, 400 meters, 2:48.71; 11th place, long jump, 4.68m; 27th place, shot put, 7.43m;

Angelica Richards: 5th place, shot put, 13.47m; 9th place, shot put, 10.33m;

Jaeva Ridley: 5th place, 400 meters, 1:04.19;

Elajiah Smith: 10th place, long jump, 4.83m;

Kayland Thomason: 8th place, 400 meters, 2:40.47;

The squad now looks ahead to the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Indoor Championships on February 16th and 17th in Winston Salem, NC.
