
Brenau Cross Country Runs at Crimson Classic
The Brenau Golden Tigers cross country team traveled to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to compete in the Crimson Classic race.
The Golden Tigers, competing against over twenty division one teams, finished 24th out of 26.
Six runners finished with personal records as the team used the meet as a strong test to prepare for their conference meet.
Junior Brittany Aikens (Braselton, GA) led the Golden Tigers with a time of 19:59. Utami Ketchem (Flowery Branch, GA) finished with a personal record of 20:08.
Other personal records set include Natalie Williams (20:15), Sarah Saenz (20:23), Tyana Luna (20:57), Aunica Clinton (22:46) and Ismaelle Occeus (23:27).
Other finishers include Ana Lopera (22:00), Anahi Ruiz (24:52) and Anazjah Mayes (26:13).
"The course was a championship course and we had four runners finish in the twenty minute race time," said head coach Susan McIntyre. "We are just three weeks away from conference and our team is really focusing on their personal goals for the season. Every week within our team, the girls are pushing each other in the race and finishing in different places in the top seven.
The Golden Tigers next hit the trails on October 26th when they travel to Beaufort, SC for the 7th Annual Shark Invitational.
