
Cross Country Takes Third at Nooga at Night 5K
Chattanooga, Tennessee-The Golden Tigers cross-country team placed third at the Nooga at Night 5K race this past weekend.
Each squad member posted a personal best time and had two top-ten finishers.
Senior Kamille Dixon ran a 17:47 to outpace 63 other runners and finish in second place overall.
Sophomore Averie Akin also ran a personal-best 18:22 to place seventh at the meet. Sophomore Victoria Woods added a top-20 finish in a time of 20:00, while Gladys Blanco Choque placed 29th by running 21:27.
Junior Paloma Resendiz-Perez (37th place/21:54), freshman RaYanna Ellis-Pickett (41st/22:22), and sophomore Leslie Cabrera (61st/25:34) also each posted a PR in the meet.
Brenau outpaced Appalachian Athletic Conference rivals Bryan (Tenn.) and Truett McConnell (Ga.) in the meet.
Carson Newman (Tenn.) won the team title, while Dalton State (Ga.) placed second.
Brenau next races at the AAC Challenge on Saturday, October 25th.
