
Cross Country Takes Third at UNG Invitational
Gainesville, Georgia-The Golden Tigers cross-country team continued their strong opening to the season with a third-place finish at the UNG XC Invitational, hosted by the University of North Georgia on Friday.
Senior Kamille Dixon continued her strong season with an overall third-place finish. The reigning AAC runner of the week, ran 18:53 to pace the squad in the 5K race.
Sophomore Averie Akin posted a 19:11 to place 5th overall and claim her second top-five finish in consecutive weeks.
Two other sophomores had good showings as Victoria Woods added a solid 23rd-place finish with a time of 21:19, and Gladys Blanco Choque placed 39th at 22:18.
Other Golden Tiger finishers include junior Paloma Resendiz-Perez (46th place/22:54), freshman RaYanna Ellis-Pickett (53rd/22:08), and sophomore Leslie Cabrera (54th/27:11).
Brenau accumulated 104 points as a team to outpace fourth-place Oglethorpe (Ga.). Host University of North Georgia won the team title, while Lander (SC) University placed second with 79 points.
UNGs Claire Ellis won the individual title in a time of 18:14.
Brenau next hits the trail at the Georgia Tech Invitational on October 4th in Atlanta.
